My Thoughts: Strange sexy dreams, the ghost of a Mohawk woman, the research about the lake, the investigation about the two students' death, the reincarnation of two lovers who were separated by death in the lake, and the legend of The Three Sisters.... how all these were connected will get you glued on this read. An entertaining, intriguing and definitely a page-turner read with interesting and well-developed plot and characters and woven with mystery, paranormal, suspense, and romance. But the City has secrets and its doors only open if you know the right people. People like Jack, Adam's new louder-than-life room mate, and Lia, who yearns for a soul uncorrupted by the City. Then Castalia Vallas stalks her way into Adam's life. Intoxicated by the seductive professor, Adam learns to confront and control the desire he dares not speak of. But who is the hunter and who is the prey? My Thoughts: A puzzling mystery read about Adam Reid, a nobody and out of place in the city who desires to fit in and be one of those beautiful people in the city, his discovery of what he really is and who those people around him are. The voices in his head, the weird events, his discovery of the power inside him which he was able to control with the help of his seductive professor, his first hunting as a hunter, and how he saved the city from the evil that's about to awaken......An intriguing full of mystery plot with interesting characters, and strong sexy female antagonists, this read will keep you turning the pages to know what's really happening and what's reality or not. I find this read confusing and tons of questions were left unanswered. Lots of why, how, when, and who were still stuck in my head from this read but the second book might have the answers. I like how the story ended in preparation for the book two. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Available on About the Author: Author B.B. Sparkly shiny things brings her great joy and delight. She relishes munching into a fat juicy steak or a succulent roast chicken. She loves Christmas, especially putting up the tree laden with twinkly things and sitting beside it after dark when it's all lit up. She likes lots of art on walls and ornaments and plush rugs and big soft pillows. She likes the sky when it brings bright bold colours and sunny days so she can go for long walks and breathe in the fresh air. When she writer, she likes to have a favourite cocktail close to hand. For her, each book requires its own special cocktail to match it. For Lion, she chose the gimlet. The mix of gin with tangy lime, and a sugar and salt mixed rim made a perfect match for the sweet and sour mood throughout the book. Synopsis: Several years after the third World War, resources are scarce. The poor are poorer and the middle class doesn't exist anymore. A man with resources travels from city to town buying teenagers from desperate parents and orphanages. The teens are educated, fed and clothed as appropriate for their end purpose, Soldier or Breeder. A strong, young woman, Marie Rice, falls for Gunnar Lincoln. Their attraction is forbidden, Marie meant for someone else. Disturbing events on the island lead to Gunnar and Marie looking for a way to escape and save everyone else. While they bide their time, attraction turns to something stronger. Will they escape? Will they save the others? My Thoughts: An island only known as CACAJT with the breeders, the military teams: Riolsh and Nyamos which lead by Tyson, Marie, Gunnar and Rowen, and Silas who's mission is to rule the world and get rid of the weak.... I like the chemistry between Gunner and Marie and the back story of the characters but overall I was disappointed with this read. I feel like it didn't reach its full potential. There wasn't enough plot and character development and I didn't feel that dystopian theme in this read. Rating: ⭐⭐ Available on AMAZON, BOOK DEPOSITORY, About the Author:

These poems will inspire you to move forward from a dark place, knowing you are not alone, and lighten your spirit. Break away from what keeps you chained, so that you can freely live the life you want. My Thoughts: A collection of poems that speaks of a lot of pain, sadness, and hopelessness. A collection of poems which remind us that even in the darkest moments of our lives when things seemed to be all impossible, there's always a hope for things to get better and with God's guidance, we can win from the struggles and battles in our own lives. As long as we don't give up in trying and fighting harder in winning our own battles, we can have a better life we deserve.... Most of the poems reflect my life that made me literally cry. My favorites were "Heart of Stone, "Monster in My Head", "Harpoon My Madness", and "Break the Chains, Be Free Within". She is also a beta reader, book reviewer and a member of the Florida Writer's Association and Horror Writer's Association. Synopsis: Paige Lyman, an accomplished psychiatrist, feels dislocated when her husband suddenly dies in a helicopter crash and she discovers the startling truth about who he really was. The revelation destroys all her certainties and transforms her from psychiatrist to patient. Paige tells us about her life, in long flashbacks, starting with her atypical childhood in East Africa with Bill, the young Irish boy who stole her heart, and then abandoned her for priesthood. As a heartbroken teenager, Paige is seized by an implacable passion. She seeks her proverbial pound of flesh in the beds of various priests in an orchestrated attempt to get back at priesthood for robbing her of the only man she ever loved. Everything changes when she meets Stern W., a medical researcher, who sweeps into her life like a hurricane and marries her. Yet now, as ugly skeletons, long forgotten in the closet, begin to rear their heads, Paige is seared by a damning awareness that she had indeed had what she yearned for all her life without realizing it ... but it is too late to come to terms with the heart-wrenching things she did for a reason that no longer existed. My Thoughts: This read shocked me over and over with Paige's actions but despite those, still I didn't hate her tho I loathed those priests: father Ted who invited Paige for an excursion, father Cochran with the elegant villa where he and Paige stayed for the summer, and father Fitzgerald who stole money from the church to finance Paige's lifestyle and their trips. A story of love, heartbreak, pain, revenge, sex, lust, marriage, betrayal and forgiveness..... A story of Paige's flashbacks of the Irish boy who abandoned her for priesthood, the day she discovered sex with a stranger, her troubled adolescent life, her confidence and power in seducing priests, her new found love, her cracked married life, her punishment for her husband, her sexual adventure with her professor, the forgiveness for her husband's betrayal and the shocking revelation after her husband's death..... Paige's life indeed was like a one hell of a roller coaster ride... A disturbing but well-written read. A highly recommended in your TBR list that will rattle your mind. *Note: Contains sexual scenes. Not intended for young readers. Augustine Sam is a bi-lingual journalist and an award-winning poet. A member of the U.K. Chartered Institute of Journalists, he was formerly Special Desk editor at THISDAY newspapers, an authoritative third world daily, first published in collaboration with the Financial Times of London. He later became correspondent for central Europe. His poems have been published in two international anthologies: The Sounds of Silence & Measures of the Heart. One of his poems: Anguish & Passion was the winner of the Editor's Choice Awards in the North America Open Poetry contest, USA. Synopsis: He was the world’s greatest martial artist – a master of the world's deadliest art. Once revered, he became feared, and for that he blamed his homeland. America was no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. It had become the land of murder and the home of corruption. But for a man like Trent Smith – it was the perfect hunting ground. Biochemists have invented a drug that cures all disease and stops aging, but a New York industrialist has kept it secret for a specific purpose. He wants to form an exclusive fraternity of immortal supermen, all of whom are beholden to him. Only one thing puts a kink in his plan – the drug’s side effects, which include wild surges of increased sexuality and unpredictable flares of homicidal rage. Trent Smith has trained in Japan for over twenty years and he has his own agenda. He vows to avenge the innocents slain by the ever-growing number of American celebrities who murder with impunity. But when a dying scientist gives him the only copy of the secret formula, he must decide if the miraculous benefit is worth the toll it takes on the prodigious people who use it and their credulous victims who don’t. KILLER OF KILLERS is an action-packed martial arts thriller that pits one man's quest for justice against the wonders of medical science. But wonders for some are horrors for others in a secret society ruled by greed, malice, and a singular objective to attain eternal youth. My Thoughts: This is a suspense and action-packed read about Trent, a martial art master and a killer of killers and about the Eternity drug that could reverse aging but with murderous side effect and contains heroin, tetrodoxin and cerebrospinal fluid. I love the thrill of action-packed scenes but this one is like a breath of fresh air for me. This was my first time for an action-packed martial arts read. This read has those intense action scenes that didn't fail to give me that adrenaline rush of a book that I was hoping for and there were those unexpected heartbreaking scenes also. You will be kept guessing who's really the bad guy and if there's really a good guy and will left you thinking about Trent's reasoning for his actions and if they were justifiable. The weird movement of the roses in Susie and Samantha's hands had made me thinking maybe they were healing and were still alive since they were both using the drug. I want to know how or if Trent will be able to end the life of Manoukian. What will happen to Soriah and his lab now that his case is already with the FBI? What will Trent do with the disc that contains the Eternity database? These are some of the questions that were left unanswered and I don't know if there's a book two that will have the answers but I hope there will be. This read reminded me of those martial art films I used to watch with my brother. When Samantha told Trent she loves him, I just find that a bit fast? And there were some japanese words that i didn't understand because it wasn't explained in english and I had to translate it on google. Well other than that, I love this book. This is a recommended fast-paced read that will get your heart racing with Trent's deadly martial art skills. Rating: 5 stars Available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble About the Author:

Synopsis:
Mrityunjoy Roy is a fifteen year old Bengali who has spent the last ten years of his life growing up in Shimla. While his family is completely academically oriented, he wants something more. Finally he meets Akanksha in school, who turns his world upside down with her gorgeous looks and mind boggling smile. As fate would have it, she joins his tuition, and thus begins the torrid year of puppy love, romance, heartbreak, tragedy, and self discovery. Set among the scenic Shivalik hills of Shimla when mobile phones and internet were non-existent, this is a story of how an average young teenager comes to terms with his destiny. My Thoughts: A coming-of-age fiction story about Mrityunjoy Roy, his school life, his family, his puppy love, his first heart break, and how he had come to his senses and moved on from Akanksha. The simplicity of Roy family's lifestyle, the humiliating and slapping of a teacher to students for cheating, the beatings of a very strict and academically-oriented father to his children, parents who aren't showy with their love to their children, the misadventures of Roy and his brother Sid, the pressure to get high grades and fear to fail to do so, Roy's obsessiveness to Akanksha and its consequences on his studies, the tragic death of Roy's elder sister, how a supportive friend listened and helped Roy get through his studies and heart ache, and how Roy got better his life.....This is an emotional read that will keep you rooting for Roy to have a better life as you turn pages. I felt the fear, the pain, and the sadness of Roy from how his father treated them when they made mistakes; the expectations, the rejection, the heart ache of Roy from Akanksha. The characters and events are relatable which reminded me of my teenage years and the events in my own life that were similar with Roy. This is a recommended light and fresh read especially to teens and will not only captivate the reader with the beautiful scenic views of Shimla and Kasauli from the author's vivid descriptions but also will leave the reader reminders and lessons of life such as these quoted lines from the book: It gets better with time. I know you feel like this is the end of the world, but it isn't. Time heals all wounds. The scars remain but you can always live with them. It’s weird how some people alter your perceptions about love, life, and lust. Life was a textbook. And I was learning every chapter of it. Life has a way of taking unexpected twists and turns every now and then. I respected all religions because I believed that every religion taught a person how to lead a humble and sincere life. It's strange how the people you want to get close to so badly end up pushing you away, and yet the people who you don’t even consider getting close to, end up drawing themselves towards you. Sometimes, the smallest incidents in life change your entire destiny. Rating: 4 stars

She thought getting away from the Dragons would put her on a path to a new and better life, but now she must face the cold hard truth” there is always a price to be paid. My Thoughts: I didn't read the synopsis so I didn't have any clue about what the story is about and I am glad I found this on twitter while searching for free reads because this is such an amazing dark and harrowing read. This is a story of a damaged girl with a horrible past, how she survived, how she started to heal through her friendship with Eli, and how she is about to start her new life and come clean from her dark deeds by helping the investigation about The Organization and Dragons. The author did a great job with those vivid details of Tori's dark past: sexual and physical abuses, and the forced abortion which really broke my heart. A recommended page-turner read with an interesting and intense plot and intriguing characters. Mystery, suspense, crime and a dash of romance, this read has these all. Can't wait to read the next book! **Contains explicit sexual and abusive scenes. This book is intended for readers 18+ Available on AMAZON About the Author:

All these years he thought he was avenging his father. But now he knows he was a merely a puppet… and he wants revenge… My Thoughts: **I received the ebook copy from the author but this has not influenced my review or rating in any way. There are still tons of actions and suspense that will keep your eyes glued on this third book of the War Kids. I still have that book hangover from the second book so I was so thrilled to start this one. I expected this to be action-packed like the previous books from this series but I didn't expect and I wasn't prepared for the heartbreaking scenes! The conversation between Gerard and Jada then the final I love you between Ali and Kyra and Zak and Jada as they prepare themselves for the plane crash had made me literally cry. The most heartbreaking part was with what happened to Zak and I had to take a break after reading that. It was so unexpected and shocking! The plane crash, the shooting at the tunnel while rescuing Brandon and the other hostages, the panic and terror brought by the radioactive fallout, the mission to take over America, the revelation about Ethan's father, the attack of Jada, Ali, Gerard and along with police officers and the mob to the town where Abulafia's soldiers held their hostages including Faith and Kyra, the hand-to-hand combat between Jada and Junayd.... this read will get your heart racing. Most of the questions left by the book 2 weren't all answered in this sequel. Haytham's one of my favorite characters and it frustrates me not to know what happened to him and his family. Ugh! The ending was a cliffhanger! Abulafia was now on the scene and with Jada! This read will keep you thinking about the characters even after you've finished reading. This is a highly recommended read that won't disappoint you in giving that book hangover. Rating: 5 stars AVAILABLE ON AMAZON About the Author:
